The Classroom Museum from Profesor Domínguez Ortiz Historical High School (Azuqueca de Henares, Guadalajara, Spain) is an educational and cultural space that recreates an old classroom with different historical spaces, thus facilitating a chronological walkable itinerary that ranges from the first Bachiller studies -which preceded the birth of high schools-, to Franco's regime era. The Classroom Museum shelters paramount educational and historical heritage, including original and unique exhibits from the XIXth century and first half of the XXth century.

Since its inception in 2003, we participate in regional, national and international events on innovation and research. Our high school was recipient of the Educational Innovation and Research award granted by the government of Castile-La Mancha in the year 2005.

Over  the years we have committed to engage and motivate teachers, students, public organizations and various people which have contributed with their knowledge, dedication, museum exhibits or personal stories. Soon after the inception of the Classroom Museum, we started to organise exhibitions beyond the walls of our high school, displaying our heritage across the region and beyond.

In the year 2010, 36 high schools from Spain were members of the National Organization for the Defense of Historical High School Heritage. Our high school, whose Classroom Museum coordinator is Miguel Mayoral, is the fourth member of this organization. A year later, the Ministry of Education awarded our high school the highest educational honor: the tie of Alfonso X the Wise.

On May 4 2016, Profesor Domínguez Ortiz High School was designated as Historical High School of Castile-La Mancha. In 2017, UNESCO, FAD and BBVA shortlisted our high school for the Premio Acción Magistral (Teaching Labour Award). In 2019 our project "A European Museum of Education" drew critical acclaim within the Erasmus + European projects.
